The Timmins Tornadoes U16A team proudly represented the province as Team Ontario at the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships, held in Mississauga, Ontario from April 16–19, earning a bronze medal against top competition from across Eastern Canada.

After capturing the U16A provincial championship, the Timmins Tornadoes earned the right to compete as Team Ontario, bringing their full roster to the national stage and showcasing the strength of ringette in the North.

The team opened the tournament with a hard-fought 3-3 tie against New Brunswick, setting the tone for a competitive weekend. They followed with a narrow 3-2 win over Ontario 2, demonstrating resilience and disciplined play in a tightly contested matchup. Ontario built momentum with back-to-back dominant performances, defeating Prince Edward Island 7-1 and Nova Scotia 7-1. In a thrilling round robin finale, the team battled Quebec in a high-scoring contest, coming up just short in a 6-5 loss.

Facing New Brunswick again in the semi-final/bronze medal game, Team Ontario competed hard in a fast-paced and physical matchup. Despite generating strong scoring opportunities and battling throughout, Ontario ultimately came up short but secured a well-earned bronze medal finish.

The team also found success in the championship skills competition, where Jasmine Bangs (shooter) and Adèle Plouffe (goalie) captured top honours in the U16 Breakaway Challenge.

The Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships provided an unforgettable experience for the athletes, highlighting the high level of competition and sportsmanship across the sport.
