Timmins Ringette Supports the Timmins Food Bank!

Dec. 10, 2019

Christmas is a time of great joy for families to bond and make new memories, but it is also a time where many families that are less fortunate struggle. The Timmins Ringette Association did their part to help out by hosting an exhibition game in support of the Timmins Food Bank!

On November 24, 2019, the U19 A Timmins Tornadoes played an exhibition game at the Timmins Sportsplex against the Timmins competitive Open A team. The exciting and high paced game was played in front of a hearty group of family and friends. Entry to the game was a grocery or food donation.

The game was a highly spirited affair with exciting back and forth action. Marie Bourdages-Cote led the Timmins U19A team to a slim 4-3 victory with a three goal performance. Sydney Dagenais scored what turned out to be the winning goal halfway through the second period. Kara D’Arcangelo chipped in with two assists. The Open A team put up a strong challenge and even scored with 2 minutes left to make it close on a goal by Karine Caron, but couldn’t get the equalizer by U19A goalie Emilie Robert. Shannon Lachance and Jennifer D’Aoust rounded out the scoring.

All told, the Timmins Ringette Association was able to collect 3 full recycle bins of groceries in support of the Timmins Food Bank. Thank you to all of our supporters and volunteers for helping to make this day happen. Happy Holidays to all!
