U14A At Barrie and District Tournament Feb.16-18
Another great Tournament Weekend for the Timmins Tornadoes U14A team who attended the Barrie Ringette Tournament the weekend of February 16-18.
They represented Timmins well, coming home with a silver medal!
Timmins had a strong start to the tournament winning all 4 games in the round robin. They started strong with their first game against Richmond Hill securing a 9-2 win. Game two against their northern competitors, Sudbury, was a tough one, resulting in another win, 3-1. In game 3 against Chatham Thunder Timmins played hard and secured another win, 8-5. Timmins continued their winning streak in game 4 against Barrie Blizzards winning 7-1, sending them into the semi-finals sitting in first place.
Semi-finals against Cambridge Turbo’s was a tough game with Timmins edging Cambridge out 3-2 for a spot in the finals. Finals saw Timmins go up against their northern competitors Sudbury once again. This time Timmins was unable to keep up their winning streak and Sudbury took home the gold with a 6-1 win.
These young athletes represented the North well coming home with a silver medal! We can’t wait to see what they bring to Provincials, the final tournament of the season, in March.
